Beads and findings vary by manufacturer, production lot, coating, cut, hole size, finish, and tolerance. Thread, wire, backing, adhesives, clasps, and tools also behave differently. A substitution can change count, drape, strength, weight, fit, and appearance. Statements such as “gold-plated,” “nickel-free,” “hypoallergenic,” or “food-safe” must be verified from the actual supplier and product documentation; they should not be inferred from appearance or a general tutorial.

7. Jewelry Safety and Intended Use

A decorative project may not be suitable for children, pets, body piercing, medical use, high-impact activity, water exposure, sleep, or environments where snagging is possible. Clasps, wire, crimping, thread paths, and focal components should be inspected before wear. Students are responsible for determining intended use and for warning recipients about relevant care and limitations.
